GAME COUNT RESULTS - 20th September 2012

Kuti's first official game count was a great success. We were thrilled to have so many supporters - over 120 people took part and it was great to see Kuti come alive with such a friendly crowd. The big festivities started on Saturday night with drinks at Sunset Deck followed by a lavish spit braai at Landirani Camp. Despite the bar running almost completely dry everyone was up by 5.30am for a 6am start, with 5 teams each taking a different section of the reserve to be covered on foot. For those that covered less densely populated areas we were most grateful to the giraffe for wandering up to the camp during breakfast so the kids could take an ox cart safari to see them!

The results of the big mammal count are as follows: 52 Zebra, 63 Sable, 16 Warthog, 2 Bush pig, 7 Reedbuck, 1 Serval, 39 Bushbuck, 21 Duiker, 12 Wildebeest, 21 Kudu, 48 Waterbuck, 32 Nyala, 27 Impala and 2 Giraffe.
